Gianfranco understands how to work with different cultures. He’s been doing it since he was 5 years old.
When you have lived and worked across Europe and South America, speak four languages and have worked in engineering, aerospace and hi-tech sectors, you quickly start to understand what is the same and what is different about the companies you work with. If you’re Gianfranco, you also learn to help people look at things in new ways, so they can see the problems in a different light and solve them in a way they can understand.
“I support and facilitate people to open their mind and look at things in a different way. You need to take off the blinkers. The company normally does things this way? That may not work now. We need innovation, a different perspective. We need to think around the curves and find a different solution. When your company is facing challenges and changes you have not seen before, you need to change the way you look at things. That’s what I do. I help people see differently.”
As well as engineering and aerospace, Gianfranco understands business. His MBA and project management skills are just part of the story. Gianfranco knows that the real difference in business is the capability of the people who work there. “Coaching and developing people makes such a difference. I cannot solve this issue for you. You have to solve it. Sometimes we all get stuck. Coaching someone to find the solutions which work for them, their team, their business, that’s what matters. They have more tools to think differently the next time they get stuck. That’s how you develop potential in the business and the people working there.”
Gianfranco is primarily working through zoom these days. When he isn’t, he teaches tango, grows vegetables and takes care of his bees and his family. “I cycle, I live as sustainably as possible. We can truly make a difference in our world, or we can pretend to make a difference. I like to live what I coach. We can all make an impact, whoever or wherever we are.”
